F A Q

                                            F.A.Q. - Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What type of patterns do you carry?
A. We carry the most popular stamps: ashlar slate, cobblestone, seamless slate, random stone, tile, wood planks and brick. We also offer a variety of borders.

Q. Do you offer free estimates?
A. Yes, all estimates are free. We also offer free design help.

Q. Which is better wire mesh or re bar?
A. Wire mesh is the minimum for reinforcement. Re bar is far superior to the wire mesh. Wire mesh will not prevent cracking or heaving whereas the re bar does both. Our price includes 1/2in re bar or we can step up the size of the re bar to 5/8in for a small fee. How strong do you want to go?

Q. Is there a different price for different patterns?
A. No, it is not the pattern that will affect the price but colors. The colors vary in price.

Q. What kind of maintenance is necessary?
A. There exists two different maintenance plans depending on your desires. The first and easiest, is absolutely no maintenance at all. No maintenance is required to keep the strength of the concrete at its highest. In addition, not maintaining the Stamped Concrete will result in a natural aging of colors that some people find desirable. It must be noted, however that stamped concrete has the wonderful attribute of appearing perfectly brand new after a reseal. In fact , in our experience, Stamped Concrete looks even better after a reseal than the originally installed. Artistic Concrete therefore recommends a reseal once every 2-4 years to reinvigorate the colors to a level of beauty that even surpasses that of the original installation.

Q. How will my stamped concrete hold up in the winter months?
A. Stamped Concrete can be found in all climates and weather conditions. The durability of this product allows it to endure the coldest and snowiest of winters. You can shovel, plow and snow blow your Stamped Concrete.

Q. How will you color my stamped concrete?
A.  We use an int regal mix, when the concrete shows up on site we take the bags of your choice color and throw them directly in the mixer. Doing the color this way is the leading method and ensures that whatever color you choose will be solid all the way through your Stamped Concrete.

Q. Will my color ever fade?
A. Your color will never fade. Over time, it might appear to look as if it is because the sealer is breaking down. As soon as you seal it, again the color comes back just like it was on day one. The sealer really is the key to keep your concrete looking spectacular from year to year.

Q. How long will my project take?
A. Typically:

  • 500sq ft ~ 1-3 days
  • 1000sq ft~ 3-4 days
  • 2000sq ft~ 4-6 days
  • 5000sq ft~ week

These numbers reflect averages based on previous jobs. They can change based upon the complexity of your project.

Q.
How thick is my concrete?
A.
Depending on the application but normally 4 inches.

Q. Do you have insurance?
A.
We carry more insurance than what the state requires. We carry the following:

  • each occurrence 1 million
  • damage to rented premises half million
  • personal and adv injury 1 million
  • general aggregate 2 million
  • products comp op aggregate 2 million

Q. How experienced is the crew?
A.
Artistic Concrete is proud to have the most capable and competent stamped crew in the area. Stamped Concrete is not something we offer on the side it's all we do.

Q.
Is it slippery when wet?
A.
An anti-slip treatment is available as part of Artistic Concrete's Stamped Concrete process. This application allows free travel over the floor or walkway even when wet. Anti-slip treatment is applied upon the customer's request.
